Abstract

Abstract. This article examines the social, economic, cultural, and domestic aspects of the everyday life of the population of the Qashqadaryo Oasis, located in southern Uzbekistan, during the period from 1964 to 1985. As these years coincided with the final decades of the Soviet Union, particular attention is paid to the impact of Soviet socio-economic policies on the daily lives of local residents. The study analyzes the transformation of rural and urban lifestyles, family relations, the development of education and culture, improvements in living conditions, and the distinctive local characteristics of these processes. The research is based on archival materials, contemporaries' memoirs, statistical data, and existing scholarly literature. It reveals the complex nature of everyday life during this period, highlighting both its positive and negative dimensions.
