Abstract. This article examines the theoretical and practical aspects of improving investment promotion mechanisms in free economic zones. The main purpose of the study is to assess the effectiveness of tax, customs, institutional and infrastructural mechanisms that activate investment activity within free economic zones and to justify the directions of their development.
