Abstract

ANNOTATION
This article examines the linguistic categories of expressive means and stylistic
devices as essential tools for creating imagery, emotional tone, and communicative
effect  in  texts.  The  study  outlines  their  definitions,  classifications,  and  functional
differences, drawing on the works of leading linguists such as Galperin, Leech and
Short, and Jakobson. Special attention is given to the role of stylistic choices in literary
language  and  translation  practice.  The  article  also  highlights  the  importance  of
understanding  these  mechanisms  for  effective  text  analysis,  interpretation,  and
intercultural communication.
